Club Involvement
Club Leadership
Club Board of Directors
If you are really energized and believe in the ideals of NWUP we invite you to take a position on the board. Here you will take apart on developing the strategic vision and implementing plans to reach our goals.
It takes a village...
All of our board members are assigned a functional area to lead. But there are more roles than board members and these provide opportunities for other club members to demonstrate their talents and energies. Many of these functions require more than just a leader. They require active involvement from our members. So, if your time is limited but you still would like to be involved, consider taking the lead or helping out in the following tasks:
FUNCTIONAL PROGRAMS
- Membership
- Youth Outreach
- Hospitality
- Guest Speaker Solicitation
- Hospitality
- Welcoming Committee
- Hiking Club
- Book Club
- Blue Businesses
- Messaging
- Social Media
- Accounting/ Bookkeeping
We are currently in need of a person to lead our Social Media opportunities. So, if you have the time, experience or talent, and feel you can get satisfaction from taking on this role, please see one of our board members or send us an e-mail at nwsjcp@gmail.com
Make Us Stronger Through your Involvement
We understand. We all have busy lives with job of our own and families to look after. If leadership is not for you at this time, consider taking part in one of these activities as they arise. Check our calendar and events page frequently and follow our newsletter to see what opportunities arise for you to take a part in.

Meet with Representatives
Our club is focusing on meeting with our representatives to share concerns with them. You can join this effort and learn more about how laws are passed and the impact you can have in effecting change on an issue. Direct contact with our representatives helps us to be seen and heard.
Legislative Teams
Care deeply about an issue, but don’t want to do public speaking? We also research bills that are under consideration by the Florida House and Senate each legislative cycle. Decide on your topic of interest and learn how you can track legislation and report back to the club board and membership
Attend Monthly General Meeting
Attend our Monthly General Membership Meetings and discover ways you can get involved and hear from engaging speakers on timely at topics. It’s a time to gather with like-minded people, take a small action while there and leave having heard something new. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month, starting with a 6:30 PM social period and 7:00 PM start time.
Neighborhood Organizing
One of the largest impacts you can have is to organize your street or sub-division. If you are interested, we can help. Our club instituted a “Street Captain” program several years ago and it has been so successful it has been adopted by the county wide Democratic organization. They say all politics is local and you don’t get more local than your individual street. It’s an opportunity to gather with neighbors. Have cup of coffee around the kitchen table or a backyard barbeque. It’s all up to you. Sound interesting contact us at nwupprecinctdevelopment@gmail.com
